For the 7th year in a row a group of exchange students from Sinolink School has visited our community.
Sinolink school is in the city of Shenzhen, in the south of China near Hong Kong. It is one of the first “Special export zones” set up in China 40 years ago. Back then it was a fishing village, now it is a bustling city of 12 million people. The students travel by airplane for 15 hours to be with us. They come during their winter break for the Chinese Lunar New Year.
The 30+ students are divided into small groups and are assigned to various classes at our school. They learn side by side with our students, including playing at recess, going to physical education, learning mathematics. The students learn from each other.
The school community was treated with a wonderful array of talent performed by our Chinese students on their last day with us. Every year the Sinolink students look forward to their visit, and they also prepare quite a bit for their performance.
The Sinolink students very much appreciate the hospitality and kindness shown by the SJMV family during this visit.
