Red,White & Blue Day 2011
St. Joseph Catholic School

St. Joseph is in its tenth year of honoring the local heroes that serve our country and our community. We also remember 9/11. Joining us were Father Bob, our local Mountain View Fire Chief Bradley C. Wardle, and our own St. Joseph alumni Battalion Chief Cliff Del Carlo. Representatives from the local police force, Mountain View city council, and Anna Eschoo's office also attended. Presenting our flags in their professional and moving drill was the Navy Junior ROTC Milpitas High School Color Guard. Any service man or woman was invited to attend, and many students introduced their relatives who serve our country. New to our celebration this year were members of the California Rescue Dog Association (CARDA). These heroes serve year round to search and rescue in times of need, including 9/11. Students prepared gifts, songs and poems for the occasion, and the dogs got special treat necklaces. Taking a day to honor our community and give a little special thanks is a treasured tradition at St. Joseph.
