Mission Money
Each classroom has a mission money box which is collected and weekly. The next Wednesday the Student Council announces the total amount for each class, the class with the most mission money collected, and the school's total.
The mission money for this year will be going to different charities:
September

October - Thanksgiving dinner for the needy
November - Mountain View Community Service Agency and Mountain View Community
Pregnancy Center
December - St. Vincent de Paul and Mountain View Community Service Agency
January - Mountain View Community Service Agency
February/March - Lenten almsgiving/coin

Donations
to Catholic Charities in the Diocese of San Jose benefit families in the local
communities.
Rice
Bowls
Money
from the Rice Bowls and the Coin Challenge is donate to Catholic Relief Services,
which helps children in many countries around the world, (including Mexico,
Pakistan, Angola, Cambodia, Nigeria, and the United States.)
St.
Vicent De Paul Giving Tree
Each year
in December some Grade 8 students work after school to gather, sort and ready
for distribution the Christmas Gifts donated by parishoners and placed on the
altar Giving Tree. Close to 100 families receive these gifts of food, toys, and
clothing -- making Christmas Giving and Receiving meaningful to all.
Scholarship
Funds
During May,
mission money will be collected for St. Joseph Scholarship Fund. This money
will help many students receive the education they deserve but cannot afford.
