What are all these pirates doing in Kindergarten? Listening to the Head Pirate read a pirate story (really a parent in disguise). The children demonstrate their attentive listening community agreement.
How creative are these sixth graders? Well, give them a bag of miscellaneous objects and ask them make something and you get puppets, communication devices and more!
As school winds down for the year, one of the last things we do is show the upcoming grades what is in store for them. Sixth graders write letters to fifth grade and give advice on what junior high is like. Here the third graders share their awesome Native American reports with the second graders. The second graders are eager to become third graders.

Our last prayer service is organized by seventh grade to say good-bye to the eighth grade. Father Bob came to the school to help us celebrate the last Wednesday assembly with the Class of 2003. The seventh graders prepared a lovely song for the eighth graders called "Lean on Me". Finally the entire student body raised their hands together to extend blessings upon the eighth graders as they leave St. Joseph.
Seventh grade prepares for the last day luncheon for the eighth grade. Tradition demands that the seventh grade write a play about what life holds in the future for the eight grade. And it must be funny or else! Here they practice their lines under the direction of seventh grade teacher Ms. Hilario. Name tags help identify which eighth grader each actor is portraying. (For more pictures on the luncheon, click on the Class of 2003 Graduation at the top of this web page). They also prepare confetti and decorations to turn the auditorium into a mexican themed fiesta room.
Under Social Studies teacher Mrs. Schlotzhaur's watchful eye, Seventh Graders teach the rules of their board games to each other. Using historical fiction books they read from the Medieval Period, students designed the game rules, and board layout. Playing the games is always interesting.
