Admissions

What are we looking for in a prospective Saint Joseph Mountain View student? It is our priority to invite students and families who emulate our mission and vision, enriching both our community and the learning environment. We welcome all students of diverse backgrounds, all faiths, and varying talents and abilities.

Non-Discriminatory Policy

St. Joseph Catholic School of Mountain View does not unlawfully discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, age, sex, or disability in the admission of students, the administration of educational policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.

Age of Admission

Transitional Kindergarten students must be 4 years old by September 1st of that school year. Kindergarten Students must be 5 years old by September 1st of that school year.

Testing

All incoming students are tested in order to verify basic skills and to determine placement. Testing is held at the school by appointment.

Conditions of Admission

No student shall be admitted to St. Joseph Catholic School unless there is clear indication of the ability to function successfully. In some cases, students may be admitted on a probationary basis with dates and criteria of evaluation clearly established in writing.

Required Records

It is the responsibility of parents applying for the admission of their child to St. Joseph Catholic School to supply the following verification of records. No student will be admitted unless verification is complete.

  1. Original Birth Certificate (must be submitted with application)
  2. Sacramental Records (must be submitted with application when applicable)
    • Baptismal
    • First Eucharist
    • Confirmation
  3. Academic History (must be submitted with application)
    • Copy of current report card, transcript, progress report or previous school recommendation
  4. Health Records: (must be turned in by August 15)
    • Evidence of compliance with immunization requirements and/or Immunization Form, all grades.
    • Mandatory Health Assessment Form, grades K and 1. Incoming Kindergartners must complete a Dental Oral Exam by the 1st day of school. Grade 7 Hepatitis B and MMR shot requirements must be met by the 1st day of school.
  5. Any additional testing for academic accommodations

 

Admission to St. Joseph Catholic School shall be determined by the pastor and the principal in accordance with Diocesan policies.

Tuition & Fees

Application Fee $75 & Registration Fee $450 (per student annually)

These fees helps cover the cost of enrollment, administration, textbook, Department of Educations fees, Catholic Telemedia fee, and standardized testing and office expenses. The Registration Fee will be applied to the upcoming year. Registration is billed in February and March for the 2022-2023 school year. This fee is non-refundable.

Sacramental Fees

Grade Appropriate and Optional
These grade specific fees cover the preparation cost for the sacraments, including the retreat center for confirmation candidates. Fees are included in tuition.

Tuition Fees 2022-2023.

We are proud to introduce a no additional fees structure for the school year. The previous fees for technology, field trips, Parent Teacher Guild, graduation and registration are now rolled in to the base tuition amount. Extra curricular events are not included in tuition: sports, teacher gifts, Lots of Luck Dinner, and holiday parties.

Registration for the 2022-2023 school year is equivalent to the first months tuition payment or 1/10th the annual tuition. This payment is nonrefundable and must be made in February in order to guarantee your child’s place for the start of the next school year.

Service Hours

Each family is expected to volunteer 30 hours per year.

Financial Assistance 

At St. Joseph Mountain View, we work hard to ensure that the quality, Catholic education we provide is available to as many families as possible.Below are some of the ways we support.

Application for Financial Aid

Each year, interested families should submit an online financial aid application. We consider the FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment when rewarding financial aid. This assessment uses your financial information to determine the amount of aid needed. The application can be completed at https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/49FC5. The process will require:

  • Most recent Federal tax forms, including all supporting tax schedules
  • 2020 W-2 and 1099 forms for you and your spouse
  • Supporting documentation for Social Security income, welfare, child support, food stamps, workers’ compensation, and temporary assistance for needy families (TANF)
  • In the case of divorce, separation, or never married families, both parents need to fill out and submit a FACTS application in order to be considered for aid.

Special Scholarships for New Families

If you are new to Catholic education, we invite you to apply for two special scholarships: The Guardian Angel Program (up to $2,500) and The BASIC Fund (Up to $2,5000).Once accepted, these scholarships can be renewed annually and can be applied for with each child that attends St. Joseph School.

Withdrawal Policy

If a student/family withdraws from school, they must notify the Principal in writing and a meeting will be scheduled between the family and the Principal.

Registered students who withdraw before the first day of school are responsible for the non-refundable registration fee and the first month’s tuition. Registered students who withdraw between the first day of school and December 15 are responsible for ½ of the full tuition amount. Registered students who withdraw after December 15 are responsible for the full tuition amount.

Transcripts are sent to the new school only upon a written request from the new school.
